Growing up in a small business family, Rebecca learned about running and owning a business from a young age. It was from these conversations and observations that she knew she wanted to be a business owner one day.
Rebecca became interested in accounting when attending North Callaway High School, where she competed on the national-winning FFA Farm Business Management team. The team participated in contests, where participants completed tests that included business, economic, and accounting concepts.
She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting with Summa Cum Laude honors.
After more than a decade working in the tax department of a local firm, Rebecca decided to leave public accounting to pursue her lifelong dream of owning her own business. In 2019, she founded Optimized CFO & Controller Services LLC.
Optimized CFO uses Rebecca’s extensive experience and knowledge of accounting systems to outsource CFO and controller services projects. These projects are customized to meet the needs, goals, and constraints of the business. Optimized CFO helps businesses optimize their accounting and financial system.
Outside of running her own business, Rebecca and her husband, Jason, enjoy living in Columbia, along with their daughter, Grace. In addition to family, Rebecca believes in giving back to the community. She is a member of the Columbia Metro Rotary, a founding member of the ACA Business Club of Columbia, and also is a member of the Missouri United Methodist Church and its finance committee. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with family, cheering on the Mizzou Tigers, doing yoga, and reading.
