Growing up in a small business family, I learned about running and owning a business from a young age. It was from these conversations and observations that I knew I wanted to be a business owner one day.
I became interested in accounting when attending North Callaway High School. During my senior year, I competed on the national-winning FFA Farm Business Management team. The team participated in contests, where participants completed tests that included business, economic, and accounting concepts.
I graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia in May 2008, earning a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree with Summa Cum Laude honors.
After more than a decade working in the tax department of a local firm, I decided to leave public accounting. I wanted to pursue my lifelong dream of owning my own business. In 2019, I formed Optimized CFO & Controller Services LLC.
With my new company, I use my extensive experience and knowledge of accounting systems to outsource CFO and controller services projects. These projects are customized to meet the needs, goals, and constraints of the business. I truly enjoy the variety and challenge of helping businesses optimize their accounting and financial system.
Outside of Work
My husband, Jason, and I reside in Columbia, MO, along with our daughter, Grace. In addition to family, I believe in giving back to my community. I am a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia board of directors, and have previously served as Board Treasurer. I also attend Missouri United Methodist Church. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with family, cheering on the Mizzou Tigers, doing yoga, and reading.
