CMD transitioned away from a professional employment organization (PEO) and reached out to OCFO to help with the accounting side of that transition and assist with the preparation of monthly financials. The goal was for the process to have as little impact on the business, its employees and its patients as possible. Jeanna Basnett of CMD said, “OCFO has been instrumental in assisting us with a major transition. Pete’s broad knowledge base, level-headedness and insight have given us the tools to make necessary changes with confidence.”

Prior to the transition, CMD was having issues with financial transparency and accuracy and felt as though it wasn’t taking advantage of current financial technologies. OCFO focuses on listening to and working with clients to provide the information they need. As part of this project, OCFO led a financial software transition to help with these issues.

One thing that sets OCFO apart is its communication. When asked what she likes best about OCFO, Jeanna said, “We appreciate that we can easily get in touch and problem-solve without long wait times. OCFO meets with CMD’s practice manager weekly to check in and answer any questions.

A strong relationship quickly grew between OCFO and CMD because of the large transition and needs that CMD was experiencing. It was necessary to act immediately and precisely to ensure CMD could seamlessly continue to operate. Since the transition, OCFO has continued assisting with the preparation of monthly financials and training of CMD staff. 


OCFO was engaged early on to support accounting and financial reporting while helping to design back-end reporting utilized in Paytient’s proprietary software.

Paytient has grown to a global team, building solutions to deliver value to employers, payers, and health systems. As Paytient has grown and evolved, so has OCFO's role.

We have supported Paytient and their team throughout the relationship by providing business process outsourcing, controller, and CFO services.  OCFO went from serving as the primary outsourced accounting department to evolving and now serving as a partner and resource to Paytient’s expanding internal finance team.  OCFO continues to help guide reporting and data automation on the accounting side.
OCFO has enjoyed being alongside Paytient as they have rapidly grown and are striving to truly change healthcare, not only locally but on a national level.

KMC initially engaged OCFO when Wendy was searching for an accounting firm that would take the time to learn her business and advise her on a regular basis.  Wendy says, “As a small business owner, I need to spend the majority of my time focusing on the business, but also have comfort knowing that my finances are being watched closely.”  

OCFO meets with Wendy on a monthly basis to review the financial statements and go over any other financial questions or topics that may be relevant.  Additionally, OCFO helped develop an annual budget for KMC to track actual vs. budgeted results, and runs their payroll each month.

OCFO prides itself on communicating with clients through regular touch-base meetings. This helps clients prioritize devoting time to review financial statements and other topics together.  The value isn’t just in generating the numbers, but being able to talk through those numbers and determining what they mean for both the past and future.
